Effortlessly blending elements of retro funk, classical instrumentation, and soul ballads, the sensuous songstress and multi-instrumentalist concocts dreamy sounds that are singularly beautiful.
Kadhja Bonet is a multi-instrumentalist with a background in classical violin. Her idiosyncratic blend of cosmic jazz, R&B, folk, retro funk, and classical music caught success in the underground music scene in Los Angeles before her albums The Visitor (2016) and Childqueen (2018) were released by Fat Possum Records. With her elegant and almost cinematic sensibility, Bonet’s atmospheric compositions are unplaceable in era and genre. She’s an alumna of the Red Bull Music Academy program in Tokyo and has collaborated with the producers Itai Shapira and Max Maxwell.
