An immersive canopy of projected video art that illustrates a lush, sensual, and voyeuristic vision.
Projected on a canopy in the forest, Marilyn Minter’s video Green Pink Caviar shows an intense close-up of a woman’s mouth licking slimy green and pink crystal candy and gold and silver food coloring off a glass plane. Minter filmed the piece from beneath the glass to create a hallucinatory effect. The video illustrates the moments when clarity becomes abstraction, and beauty commingles with the grotesque, showcasing Minter’s complicated relationship with glamour and the female form. Marilyn Minter is an interdisciplinary artist working between video, photography, and painting. She has presented work around the world at leading institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum.
